Recap: Oakland vs. Cleveland

Published: February 25, 2013

Yan Gomes homered and drove in five runs as the Indians outslugged the Athletics, 14-10, in spring training action.

Matt Carson added a two-run homer for the Indians, who had 10 hits and took advantage of nine free passes to stay unbeaten in five preseason games.

Both starters pitched well before the bullpens imploded. Cleveland's Justin Masterson threw two perfect innings in his outing, while his counterpart, Andrew Werner, allowed one unearned run over two frames.

Shane Peterson went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer, and Michael Choice also had a two-run blast in the loss.
