Recap: Milwaukee vs. San Diego

Jedd Gyorko and Eddy Rodriguez each homered and combined for five RBI as the San Diego Padres posted a 7-1 win over a Milwaukee Brewers' split squad Monday at Maryvale Park.

Gyorko gave the Padres a 2-0 lead with his second long ball of the spring, a two-run shot off Brewers starter Hiram Burgos in the third inning. Rodriguez capped the victory with a three-run blast off Kyle Heckatorn in the top of the ninth.

Kyle Blanks added two hits, including an RBI double, while Padres starter Edinson Volquez struck out four over two scoreless innings to record the win.

Carlos Gomez and Jeff Bianchi each collected a pair of hits for Milwaukee. Burgos worked the first 2 2/3 innings and surrendered two runs on three hits.
