MANATEE -- A 27-year-old woman has been charged with stabbing a 59-year-old man she lives with in Palmetto, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to an apartment in the 200 block of 21st Street West, where they found the victim with cuts to his upper right arm and chest. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect, Krizia A. Gaskin, had fled the scene in a vehicle, according to a news release.

Deputies located Gaskin a short time later and arrested her on a charge of aggravated domestic battery.

"The suspect alleged to have been struck in the head and was also transported to the hospital to be examined," the report states.
