BRADENTON — The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a man shooting at a car early Saturday.

Authorities say a 39-year-old man was driving through the Braden Lakes Apartments, 2900 50th Ave. W., at about 3:15 a.m. on his way to meet an acquaintance, according to a news release.

The victim says as he was being flagged down by a female, he noticed a man approaching his vehicle carrying a handgun. As the victim drove away, the suspect fired at the fleeing vehicle. The driver was not injured.

After calling the sheriff's office, deputies collected evidence at the apartments. The investigation continues at this time.

The suspect was described as a male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 170-180 pounds, wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans, armed with a handgun.
