Are you a Jeff Dunham fan? Do you have your tickets for his concert Friday at the Tampa Bay Times Forum?
If the answer to the first question is "yes" and the second is "no," then you're out of luck. The show's totally sold out. Maybe you can find a scalper in downtown Tampa who's hawking a couple of tickets, but otherwise, sorry.
Dunham is, of course, the wildly popular ventriloquist/comedian known for his Comedy Central specials, for his odd puppets (which include Achmed the Dead Terrorist) and for selling out arenas and stadiums. Critics have called his work racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and homophobic, but if those charges are true they apparently don't bother his millions of fans around the world. Slate.com called him "America's favorite comedian," he's been named "ventriloquist of the year" twice by people who pay lose attention to ventriloquism and he even sold out the mammoth Wembley Stadium in England.
Details: 8 p.m. Feb. 22 at Tampa Bay Times Forum. Tickets: sold out. Information: 813-229-7827 or straz.org.
