Desmond Lindsay homered and drove in three runs, and Jimmy Kuebler pitched a complete game as the Out-of-Door Academy baseball team earned a 10-1 victory Tuesday over host Bradenton Christian in the Class 3A-District 10 opener.

Kuebler struck out nine and allowed two hits and three walks. Lindsay, Tyler Dietrich and Alex Horan had two hits apiece for the Thunder (2-1).

BAYSHORE 11, BOOKER 1 (5) -- The host Bruins got three-hit pitching from Jerad Paparella and a 3-for-3 day from Justin Metzger to cruise past the Tornadoes in a mercy-rule victory.

Paparella struck out eight and allowed the one earned run. Derek Paparella added a two-run home run, and Julian Valdivia was 2-for-3 for Bayshore (3-2).

LAKEWOOD RANCH 3, CARDINAL MOONEY 2 -- Justin Greenaway was 2-for-4, Brad Zunica was 3-for-4, Hunter McGarry got the win, and Andrew Giddens added a double and the save as the Mustangs improved to 2-1 with a win over the host Cougars.

Austin Bingham had a double and absorbed the loss for Cardinal Mooney.

SAINT STEPHEN'S 14, ADMIRAL FARRAGUT 4 -- Justin Westberry went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, Ben Israel had three RBIs, and Colin Yates scored twice as the Falcons dispatched the host Bluejackets. Justin Gregorius got the win for Saint Stephen's.

Softball

MANATEE 10, PUNTA GORDA CHARLOTTE 2 -- Mariah Wise went 2-for-2, scored four times and stole five bases as the host Hurricanes won a Class 7A-District 11 contest.

Amber Schaad had two RBIs, and Reece Byrne had two hits and scored twice for Manatee (3-2, 2-1). Kelli Gault and Hailey Hopkins combined to strike out 10 batters on the mound.

BRADEN RIVER 2, SARASOTA 0 -- Courtney Mirabella fired a six-hit shutout, striking out 16, as the host Pirates improved to 3-1, 3-0 in Class 7A-District 11.

Kenya Yancy went 3-for-4, and Bethany Keen and Hannah Loyer each had two hits.

Boys lacrosse

SAINT STEPHEN'S 21, WINTER HAVEN ALL SAINTS ACADEMY 6 -- Joey Mays scored six goals, and Drew Vigne pitched in with five as the host Falcons earned their first victory as a full-fledged varsity program. Matt Goeters made 12 saves in goal for Saint Stephen's (1-0).

Boys tennis

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 7, ST. PETERSBURG CATHOLIC 0 -- William Buurma, Noah Blevio, Austin Ferrer and Cameron Brauner got singles wins and paired off for a doubles victory on the road for the Panthers. Peyton Spencer added a singles win for BCS (3-0).

Girls tennis

PALMETTO 4, BRADEN RIVER 3 -- The visiting Tigers improved to 4-0 behind a pair of victories apiece from Randi Allard and Emily Blackburn.

Sydney Lang also won a singles match for Palmetto.

The Pirates got singles wins from Victoria Bernhardt and Larissa Labott and a doubles win from Bernhardt and Natalie Marshall.

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 7, ST. PETERSBURG CATHOLIC 0 -- Coco Chen, Bella Blevio and Alexis Ferrer each got a singles win and had a hand in a doubles victory as the visiting Panthers (2-0) swept past the Barons.

Blevio teamed with Sarah Smith for her doubles win, while Chen and Ferrer won the other doubles match. Haley and Ashley Waldo also won singles matches for BCS (2-0).
