Air Products to present at conference

MANATEE -- Air Products Vice President and Corporate Controller Scott Crocco will participate in a question-and-answer session at the Barclays Industrial Select Conference in Miami Thursday. Crocco will become chief financial officer for Air Products on March 1.

Air Products, which makes liquid gas heat exchangers, is building a plant in Manatee County on 30 acres near Port Manatee.

Chamber Spring Fling expo March 7

Neal Communities River's Reach plans new phase

PARRISH -- Neal Communities is launching a new phase and a new floor plan selection at River's Reach in Parrish.

The second phase will offer buyers more personalization and floor plans.

Homes range in size from just under 1,800 square feet to more than 2,500 square feet, situated on 50-foot homesites. Two additional models will open next month, the Starlight and the Sweetwater II.

Testimonials sought to tout community banks

SARASOTA -- Testimonials are wanted for the "I Luv My Community Bank" campaign being sponsored by the Independent Community Bankers of America and Insignia Bank.

The national marketing and communications campaign celebrates the love that customers have with their community bank by prompting consumers and small businesses to share their personal stories and the positive impact that banking locally has on communities.

The campaign will run in conjunction with Community Banking Month in April. Testimonials and submissions from consumers will be accepted at and on the ICBA Facebook page through April 12. The top 10 testimonial finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges and announced on ICBA's Facebook page on April 15, where bankers and consumers will be able to vote for their favorite through April 30. The top five winners, chosen by Facebook votes, will be announced on May 1 and each winner will receive a $500 gift card, courtesy of ICBA.

Ashton Woods Homes buys sites for new project

BRADENTON -- Ashton Woods Homes has acquired 23 home sites off

Palma Sola Boulevard and Cortez Avenue in Bradenton for its newest community Palma Vista.

Three, four and five-bedroom homes with Key West inspired architecture will be built ranging in size from 2,400 square feet to 3,800 square feet.

Manasota SCORE annual awards luncheon Feb. 27

SARASOTA -- The Manasota SCORE annual awards luncheon Feb. 27 will feature keynote speaker W. Kenneth Yancy Jr., CEO of the national SCORE Association.

The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Michael's on East, Sarasota.

Yancy also serves on the Small Business Advisory Council of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the Client of the Year award, SCORE mentor awards will be presented, including the Platinum Leadership Award and Service Awards.
