Can you play Take Me Out to the Ballgame while mixing in some Let's Go Fish and Clap and Stomp — inning after baseball inning?

If so, the Marlins may have just the job for you.

The team is holding tryouts for an organist to perform at all 81 home games next season.

"It's a very traditional baseball thing," said Larry Blocker, Marlins' director of game presentation and events.

Organs have been a standard feature at most baseball parks ever since the Chicago Cubs introduced them at Wrigley Field in 1941. The Marlins have had only two organists since the team's inception in 1993 — Lowery Ballew and Dick Jans — but have never held an open tryout for the position.

The job pays, though Blocker wouldn't say how much.

"It's a nice part-time job," he said.

Qualifications?

"You want to appease every single person in the crowd," Blocker said. "You've got to be able to bring your own flair and flavor to this. You have to know the [baseball] situations."

The Marlins are holding tryouts at Marlins Park at 6 p.m. Feb. 25. All participants must be 18 or older and provide their own electric keyboard.
