MANATEE -- A 40-year-old woman and her daughter were robbed at gunpoint as they were loading their groceries into their car after shopping at Walmart, 2911 53rd Ave. E., about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The gunman took the woman's purse and property and fled. Attempts were made to apprehend the suspect but he was not located.

The gunman is described as 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, wearing a knitted hat, denim shirt and blue jeans.
