MANATEE -- A 19-year-old man victim was shot in the hip, as multiple shots were fired, possibly from two guns about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 6200 block of 12th Street Court East, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
The wound does not appear to be life-threatening, Emergency Medical Services said.
Sheriff's units were called to the vicinity several times Saturday night in reference to loud noise complaints from a large house party. Deputies last cleared the area at about 11:30 p.m.
Witnesses say that shortly afterward, a group of patrons at the party got into a heated argument, culminating in the shooting, the sheriff's office reported.
People, including the man who was shot, began running from the gunfire.
Witnesses said that the shooter got into a white Crown Victoria that headed north on 12th Street East. Sheriff's units quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. An eight-block pursuit was initiated, reaching moderate speeds, that ended with the suspects stopping and being taken into custody, the sheriff's office reported.
The suspects were not identified.
