MANATEE -- Three flights scheduled to depart Sarasota Bradenton International Airport for New York and one to Boston had been canceled because of the threat of a blizzard forecast to hit the Northeast United States.

According to SRQ's website, the flights affected were a Delta Airlines flight to New York-LaGuardia airport, and three JetBlue flights: one each to Boston, New York-LaGuardia and New York-JFK.

One departure, an Air Canada flight to Toronto on Friday evening, had been canceled.

Bay News 9 reported that several flights in and out of the northeast and midwest have been canceled at Tampa International Airport.
