MANATEE -- SMART is looking to win $25,000 and would like your help.
The Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy Inc., a Bradenton nonprofit that supports veterans, is enlisting the public to help the organization win a $25,000 gift card by voting daily in the Home Depot Foundation's second annual Aprons in Action Facebook contest.
Voting ends Feb. 28.
"If we win the $25,000 from Home Depot, we will be able to make some much needed improvements at SMART which will allow us to serve an even greater number of veterans and their family members," said Gail Clifton, SMART executive director.

SMART is one of four
organizations competing in contest this month. The others are:
n Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids, Mich.
n Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building Foundation, Lompoc, Calif.
n Screaming Eagle Foundation in Fort Campbell, Ky.
The winner receives the $25,000 gift card; the runners-up, $5,000.
The winner also gets a shot at the $250,000 grand prize at the end of the year; the runners-up get $150,000 and $100,000, respectively.
SMART's Horses for Heroes program is designed to assist injured veterans and their families, veterans and their families in transition and veterans and their families seeking personal enrichment, exercise and growth.
