3 people injured in Palmetto traffic crash

MANATEE -- A 77-year-old woman was critically injured Monday night when she pulled her car into the path of another car on U.S. 41 north of Palmetto, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

About 9:04 p.m., the woman, who had been stopped at the stop sign at Lakeside Boulevard, pulled onto U.S. 41, and into the path of a Toyota Camry heading south on U.S. 41, according to a news release.

The driver of the Sebring, who is from Palmetto, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg in critical condition. The driver and a passenger in the Toyota, both from Apopka were taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton with minor injuries, according to the report.
