Surveillance video of suspect in strong-arm robbery.

SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office hopes the public can help identify two suspects who robbed a man in a wheelchair early Tuesday morning in Sarasota.

A man and a woman approached the 45-year-old victim as he came out of Walgreens, 3601 Bee Ridge Road, just after midnight. They wanted to buy his prescriptions but the victim had only purchased over-the-counter allergy medicine. As the victim got into his vehicle the male suspect tried to grab the man’s satchel from around his neck. When he couldn’t pull the satchel away the suspect hit the victim multiple times in the face before running to a white SUV driven by the female suspect and fleeing the scene.

The suspects were captured by surveillance cameras inside the store shortly before the crime. In addition to photos shown here, video of them can be viewed on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/SarasotaSheriff
