MANATEE -- No one was injured Monday when a semi-tractor trailer rear-ended a school bus, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the semi, Marcos A. Molina, 32, of Lake Placid, was traveling east on State Road 70 west of Robinson Road about 4 p.m., when he failed to notice that the driver of a school bus carrying 20 children had slowed for a car turning in front of him.

Molina tried to take evasive action, but the left front of his truck collided with the right rear side of the bus. The truck then collided with a guard rail and came to a rest. The bus driver pulled his vehicle to the median to report the accident, according to an FHP report.

Molina was charged with careless driving, according to the report.
