MANATEE -- A 42-year-old man was shot in the leg during an argument outside a Bradenton bar early Saturday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The dispute erupted about 1:40 a.m. in the parking lot of Mulligan's, 5526 15th St. E. During the argument, a gunman shot the victim, then fled the scene, according to a report.

The report did not state what the argument was about.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Blake Medical Center, where he was expected to recover, according to the sheriff's office.

The report stated that detectives were following leads in the case.
