Woman, 44, hit, killed by car while trying to walk across U.S. 41 near Palmetto

MANATEE -- A 44-year-old Bradenton woman was struck by car and killed while trying to walk across U.S. 41 near Palmetto on Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

About 8:20 p.m., Dianna Pace was walking east across the highway just north of 23rd Street East, when she was hit by a Chevrolet Sonic driven by a Palmetto man.

The FHP report stated that Pace had failed to yield to oncoming traffic when she was hit.
