MANATEE -- A 12-year-old boy missing since Thursday evening has been found OK at his grandmother's house in Palmetto, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 6 p.m., James Brewer was with his sister at a Circle K store, 2413 U.S. 301 N., Palmetto, when the clerk accused him of shoplifting in the past. The sister said she was going to tell their mother, which upset James who then fled westbound on foot to an unknown location, according to a news release.

Thursday morning, the sheriff's office said James had been located at his grandmother's residence.
