"Spamalot," which last visited the Van Wezel in April of 2011, returns to the Sarasota venue Sunday for another exciting evening of song, dance and hilarity.
The multiple Tony Award-winner, largely based on the classic, 1975 comedy film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," ran on Broadway from 2005 to '09.
Written by Monty Python leader Eric Idle and composer John Du Prez, the show has been praised for effectively bringing the brilliant parody style of the film to the world of musical theater, which it lovingly mocks
Details: 7 p.m. Jan. 27, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. Tickets: $30-$75. Informations: 941-953-3368 or www.vanwezel.org.
