Bridge Street Market on Anna Maria reschedules Charity Chowder Challenge

ANNA MARIA ISLAND -- The Charity Chowder Challenge put on by Bridge Street merchants and the Bridge Street Market as a chowder cook-off competition has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 3.

Participants will prepare their favorite chowder. Tasting is $5 and happens 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. To enter the competition or for more information about the weekly market and its monthly charity food challenges contact Melissaenders76@yahoo.com or phone 215-906-0668.

The first-place winner will get a wooden cutting board emblazoned with the Bridge Street Merchants and Relay for Life logos. All proceeds from the Chowder Challenge will benefit the American Cancer Society's 2013 Relay for Life team sponsored by Sea-renity Spa & Boutique.

Boyd receives Aetna Chairman award

BRADENTON -- Boyd Insurance and Investment received the Aetna Chairman Award based on premier service and dedication to their clients.

Accepting the award were Financial Services and Benefits Manager Kim Reed and Benefits Assistant Monica Blair. This is the fourth consecutive year that the agency has received the award.

Tow to Go service offered Super Bowl weekend

Rhea Lana's Children's Consignment specializes in name brand and boutique brand children's and maternity clothing, high-quality toys, baby equipment and furniture. Following the event, some consignors will donate children's items to local charities like The Least of These Children's Clothing Closet and to local foster families through the Safe Children Coalition.
