3 DUI arrests made during Bradenton highway checkpoint

BRADENTON - The Florida Highway Patrol conducted a roadside safety checkpoint 10 p.m.- 3 p.m. Jan. 18- 19 on U.S. 41, north of 66th Avenue West. FHP sets up the checkpoints to remove impaired drivers from the roadways and enhance the safety of the motoring public.

Preliminary results indicate that the checkpoint resulted in three DUI arrests, seven driving while suspended/revoked charges, and five driving without a driver license charges. The Florida Highway Patrol also issued 53 citations for various other traffic violations, and two written warnings for various traffic infractions.
