MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting, where the victim killed an armed gunman about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of 24th Street West.
Two men were sitting outside in the carport when three masked males, dressed in black, came around the corner of the duplex and approached them. One of the three suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and ordered him to the ground. The victim pulled out a handgun and gunfire was exchanged between the two. The suspect was shot and the two other suspects took off on foot. No one else was injured, the sheriff's office reports.
Emergency Medical Services arrived and James M. Brady, 26, was pronounced deceased. Detectives are searching for the other two suspects. No one has been charged in the incident.
