MANATEE -- Two persons died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Cortez Road, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Chrissie Woods, 26, of Palmetto lost control of a 2002 Mercury Sable, which struck a utility pole. Also killed in the crash was her passenger, Jontrease Yarn, 22, of Palmetto. They were not wearing seat belts.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
