SARASOTA -- Sarasota deputies responded to a shooting in the 2100 block of Banneker Way, Sarasota, about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 19.
Upon arrival, deputies located a victim inside a residence with a gunshot wound. The victim who was treated by Sarasota County fire paramedics and transported to Blake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, the Sarasota Sheriff's Office reported.
Prior to being transported, the victim related that he was shot by a male acquaintance in his 20s, who wore all black clothing. After the shooting, the gunman fled on foot. The investigation is ongoing by detectives from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section.
