SARASOTA -- A Sarasota County school bus driver was cited after a minor collision Thursday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The bus was traveling east on Proctor Road about 2:35 p.m. when it steered into the left turn lane at the intersection of Beneva Road.
A Cadillac in the turn lane in front of the bus slowed to stop when the traffic light at the intersection turned yellow, the FHP said.
The bus driver could not stop in time and rear-ended the Cadillac, the Highway Patrol said.
There were no injuries to either driver or to the six students on the school bus. The bus driver was cited for careless driving, the FHP said.
