Canine Chico flushes out suspect after Manatee traffic crash

MANATEE -- A suspect who refused to come out of hiding and surrender to law enforcement officers was flushed out of thick brush by canine Chico of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office about 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of 75th Street East.

The suspect, Mathew Mann, 26, was transported to Black Medical Center for treatment and then transferred to Manatee County Jail, the Manatee Sheriff's Office reported.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a traffic crash, and requested the sheriff's assistance in setting up a perimeter and apprehending a suspect.
