New Nashville star Dustin Lynch had a monster month in August when his self-titled debut disc opened at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums, became the first album by a rookie country singer to arrive at No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart and shot to No. 13 on the Billboard 200.
Also in August, Lynch, who performs at Joyland on Friday, scored his first Top 10 on the Hot Country Songs survey with the lead single "Cowboys and Angels."
Like the vast majority of material on his eponymous album, Lynch co-wrote his breakthrough hit song.
