Storage unit catches fire in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Investigators are unsure what caused a storage unit fire in Bradenton Tuesday night, according to Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue.

Three fire engines, one battalion chief and one ambulance responded to the blaze at Hide-Away Storage, 4305 32nd St. W., about 6:41 p.m.

Firefighters forced open the overhead door of a secured 8-foot by 10-foot unit, bringing the fire under control within minutes, a news release states.

No civilians or firefighters were injured.

Two ATVs and other miscellaneous items were inside the unit. The damage was estimated to be about $3,500.
