Palmetto police investigate bank robbery

PALMETTO -- Palmetto police are looking for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank Monday.

About 5:20 p.m., the man robbed the bank at 510 Seventh St. W. No one was injured in the robbery.

Palmetto police released photos taken by a security camera at the bank.

He was described as a white man in his 40s or 50s. He stands 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs 140 to 150 pounds. He has reddish blond hair and unshaven face.

He was wearing a white "Lucky Brand" t-shirt, black shorts and black shoes. He also had on black or dark-color rim glasses.

After the robbery, the suspect fled in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect can call Palmetto police at 941-737-9191 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS. The city of Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency will match any reward paid by Crime Stoppers.
