The event, which will be held from 5:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Lakewood Ranch, will feature Brock Mikosky with Associated Industries of Florida.

Willis A. Smith selected by Edison State College
LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc. was recently selected by Edison State College as a prequalified construction general contractor.
The Edison State College District Board of Trustees approved the list of select contractors for the calendar year 2013 at its November board meeting.
Prequalification is limited for projects with an estimated construction value or size of up to $40 million per single project.

Florida Chamber CEO to speak at kick-off breakfast
SARASOTA -- On Feb. 8, Mark Wilson, president and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce will speak at the annual Sarasota Chamber Kick-Off Breakfast.
The event will be held from 7:30-9:15 a.m. at the Sahib Shrine Center, 600 N. Beneva Road. Cost is $35 members; $50 for non members.
Wilson will speak on the six pillars, critical factors determining Florida's future. The chamber also will present its 2013 goals and announce new member benefits and opportunities for the coming year.
ReVive collects food donations for All Faiths Food Bank
SARASOTA -- ReVive has been collecting canned and boxed food donations for the All Faiths Food Bank. In 10 days they collected 716 pounds of food, supplying 560 meals. The drive continues through Jan. 15.
"It's around this time that giving slows down," said ReVive owner Julie Clarke, encouraging people to clean their pantries and help out.
For added incentive, there will be a prize drawing for a free HD Kindle Fire at the conclusion of the drive. Customers receive entries to the drawing for each can or box of food they donate.
