Title: Chef/owner
Company: The Lazy Lobster
What is the best business advice you have ever received?
Save your money for the rainy days. I have two Lazy Lobster restaurants and soon will open another one, Kacey's Seafood and More. The one challenging thing is you make the most of your money in the four months during the season and you need to be very frugal through the summer months. That goes for any business located in a tourist area.
If you could choose another profession, what would it be?
I don't think I would choose another profession. I find the restaurant business very rewarding. I was 13 when I started working in a restaurant kitchen.
What is the biggest risk you have ever taken in your career?
When I bought the Lazy Lobster. It was definitely going out of business when I bought it. I had to mortgage my house to get the money. For me, failure was not going to be an option.
If you could travel the world where would you start and why?
I love motorcycling. I'd see the country that I live in (USA) and with a motorcycle I am able to do this. I have already been through the southwest and northwest and also New England. I go alone, my wife flies and we meet up for a week.
