A high-speed chase after a stolen vehicle ended on the Skyway Bridge Tuesday night after speeds topped 100 mph, Manatee sheriff's deputies reported.

The stolen vehicle was out of Sarasota County, and it was spotted about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday traveling eastbound on 26th Avenue from 9th Street, the report stated. Officers attempted a traffic stop at 2500 15th St. E, but the suspect vehicle sped away.

Law enforcement began to chase the vehicle, and the pursuit went through Bradenton, Palmetto and onto the Skyway Bridge.

The pursuit was terminated on the Skyway Bridge by a sheriff's lieutenant after the suspect vehicle reached speeds over 100 mph, the report stated.
