Hob Nob Bar-B-Que Feb. 28
MANATEE -- The annual Hob Nob Bar-B-Que is planned for Feb. 28 at a new indoor venue, Dolphin Aviation, 8191 N. Tamiami Trail.
The event, sponsored by the Bradenton Area Economic Development Council, will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. rain or shine. Last year the outdoor event was hit by a steady rainfall.
Grill teams cook up their favorite barbecue offerings and compete for prizes. Cost is $65 for members and $75 for others. For more information or reservations, contact Cindy Unzlcker at 941-748-4842, ext. 126.
Chef's Competition at Freedom Village
BRADENTON -- The third annual Chef's Competition will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 16 at Freedom Village, 6406 21st Ave. W.
Bradenton chefs will compete and test their cooking prowess. Guests are invited to taste the results with appetizers, small plate entrees, dessert and three wines. Cost is $45 each.
Paul Cullen, the former bass player for Bad Company, will be playing jazz and pouring wines.
There will be raffles and giveaways. Portions of the proceeds will go to All Faiths Food Bank.
