SARASOTA -- A 20-year-old Sarasota man suffered minor injuries when his 2001 Triumph 600GT motorcycle was involved in an accident with a Honda Civic at 5:47 p.m. Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Beneva Road.

The driver of the south-bound Honda was attempting to make a left turn across the northbound lanes of Beneva Road into Sarasota Square Boulevard and failed to see the north-bound motorcycle. The Triumph collided with the rear of the Honda, the FHP reported.

None of the occupants of the Honda, all from Sarasota, were injured.

Ashlan Mathis, 19, the driver of the Honda, was charged with violation of the right of way.
