'Accidental' gunfire reported at Bradenton mobile home park

MANATEE -- A trailer in was struck by accidental gunfire coming from another trailer in a Bradenton mobile home park, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, a resident at Sunset Village, 3715 14th St. W., reported hearing a gunshot and that the round had entered through a bedroom window, according to a news release.

Responding deputies determined the bullet had come from an adjacent trailer.

The resident there told deputies he was "attempting to clear his firearm and the gun accidentally went off and hit the air-conditioning unit.

"He was not aware that the round had traveled through and struck another trailer," the report states.

Deputies determined the gunshot was the result of an accidental discharge, according to the sheriff's office.
