Woman, unborn child die in Bradenton motorcycle crash

MANATEE -- An 18-year-old woman and her unborn child were killed in a motorcycle crash in Bradenton late Wednesday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

About 11:07 p.m., Shaneice S. Porter, of Bradenton, was driving eastbound on 53rd Avenue West in the right lane approaching the intersection with 20th Street West, when her motorcycle struck the curb on the south shoulder. She lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle and into a bus stop sign, according to FHP.

Porter, who was eight months pregnant, was taken to Blake Medical Center, where she died. Her unborn child also died at the hospital, FHP said.
