Woman, 22, seriously hurt in Manatee hit-run 3-car crash

MANATEE -- A young Florida woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident over the weekend, and the Florida Highway Patrol is seeking witnesses.

At about 7 p.m. Sunday, a Hyundai Santa Fe rear-ended a 22-year-old woman's vehicle on 15th Street East, according to the FHP. The woman's car, a red Pontiac G6, then rear-ended a white Chevy Malibu. The driver of the first vehicle left the scene without providing any information.

The woman, a 22-year-old Avon Park resident, was taken in serious condition to Manatee Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Malibu had minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has knowledge as to the identity or location of the hit-and-run driver or vehicle, is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 238-938-1800.
