Woman seriously injured when car crashes in Ellenton domestic dispute

ELLENTON -- A 38-year-old woman was seriously hurt when an argument with the driver of the car she was riding in turned physical and the driver lost control of the car about 11:48 p.m. Saturday on Ellenton-Gillette Road approaching 14th Court East, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The vehicle, a 2000 Honda Accord, rotated clockwise and veered off the east shoulder of the roadway into a ditch where it overturned on its roof coming to final rest. No skid marks were found on the roadway. Both occupants of the vehicle are from Ellenton. The man driving the car, also 38, was not hurt.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating he domestic dispute.
