MANATEE -- The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for overnight Saturday and into early Sunday morning for Manatee and other parts of Tampa Bay and southwest Florida.
The warning, which is in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday, covers Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and Charlotte counties.
"Temperatures will fall to between 30 and 32 degrees for a couple hours around daybreak Sunday," the Weather Service said out of its office in Ruskin.
Forecasters said cold sensitive plants should be covered or brought indoors. Pets also should be brought indoors.
A freeze warning is issued for two or more hours of temperatures between 27 and 32 over a widespread areas.
Despite the warning, the Weather Service is forecasting a low temperature of 39 on Saturday night, but with the wind it will feel more like 37. For Sunday, forecasters are calling for a high of 66 and a low of 50.
