Published: December 22, 2012

MANATEE -- Just in time for Christmas, the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the Bradenton area -- but there is absolutely no chance of a white Christmas.

Saturday morning, wind chill values could be as low as 34, as northerly winds of about 11 mph blow through the area, according to the Weather Service. Otherwise it will be sunny with a high of 61.

Saturday night, skies will remain mostly clear, with a low around 38 and northerly winds of about 8 mph.

Sunday, it will be a bit warmer, with a forecast high of 66. However, wind chills could be as low as 32 early in the day. In the evening, forecasters are calling for partly cloudy skies, with a low around 51 and east-southeasterly winds of 5 to 8 mph.

The wind chill advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Saturday, with values of 23 to 28 expected north of Tampa Bay and across interior areas. Closer to the coast from Tampa Bay southward, wind chill values of 28 to 34 are expected.

For Monday, Christmas Eve, and Tuesday, Christmas Day, the Weather Service is calling for highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 60s, with strong, sometimes gusty winds from the south-southeast. No rain is expected.
