MANATEE — A couple was robbed at knifepoint when an intruder entered their home Wednesday night, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department said.

The couple were in their living room at about 10:10 p.m. in a home in the 100 block of 51st Avenue West, Bradenton, when their dog began barking.

The wife looked on their screened porch and saw a man cutting the screen with a knife. The suspect entered the home and ordered the woman to go into the bedroom, a news release said.

The suspect then threatened the man with the knife and demanded his wallet. The suspect took the wallet and left the house, heading east, the news release said.

The suspect, who is still at large, was described as a muscular male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall with long dreadlocks.
