Deputies found the weapon on Dec. 13 on the ground outside where they had arrested a domestic battery suspect. The pistol-grip .12-gauge Mossberg pump action shotgun had a barrel that had been sawed off below the legal 18 inches, according to a news release.

Investigators determined the gun belonged to Paul Jaworowski. A warrant was obtained and Jaworowski was arrested Tuesday, according to the sheriff's office.

Jaworowski was charged with possession of a short-barrel shotgun, and released from the Manatee County jail after he posted a $1,000 bond.
