BRADENTON Despite several applications from across the state to fill the interim president position at State College of Florida, trustees voted Tuesday to keep leadership close to home.
Trustees decided to keep current interim president Carol Probstfeld in her position. Probstfeld is the vice president of business and administrative services, and was asked to serve as the interim president at the last trustees meeting in November.
The doctors prescription for the State College of Florida is Carol Probstfeld," trustee Craig Trigueiro said. "I dont think we need to go any further than Carol.
Trustees praised Probstfeld's communication skills, as well as her experience in finance on Tuesday. Trustees also voted to increase Probstfeld's salary by $5,000 a month for her time as interim president only.
"Thank you for your confidence in me," Probstfeld told trustees. "I hope I earn it every month."
