MANATEE A man standing in his driveway in the 2000 block of Seventh Avenue Drive East was the victim of a strong armed robbery at 4:15 p.m. Sunday.
The Bradenton Police Department believes the victim was robbed by a pair of Bradenton men, including Debron M. Baptiste, 25, and Ronald Jackson, 22.
Both suspects were arrested Sunday.
The victim told officers that he owed the two some money and that might be why they jumped out of a car in front of his home, held him on the ground and took his wallet, ID and several other miscellaneous cards.
The victim was able to fight off the suspects and run away, according to a Bradenton Police report. Baptiste told officers after he was arrested that he wasnt at Seventh Avenue Drive East on Sunday. Jackson, however, told officers that he and Baptiste stopped by the address and that the victim began arguing with them, assuming a fighting stance, a report states.
Jackson remained in the Manatee County jail Monday on robbery charges with his bond set at $7,500, according to the Manatee County Sheriffs Office website.
Baptiste, also charged with robbery, was released from jail Monday, the sheriffs office website states.
