BRADENTON -- They only scored 93 points Sunday night, but the State College of Florida Manatees had plenty of offense to advance to the championship of the SCF Classic.
SCF ran past Indian River State College 93-66 at Hal Chasey Gymnasium, earning a date with ASA College in the final at 7 p.m. Monday.
The Manatees (12-3), who have handed Indian River its only two losses of the season, scored 136 points Saturday night during a tournament-opening rout of the St. Thomas University junior varsity.
On Sunday, Savad Garner led the way with 22 points. Anders Haas added 18 points, and Denzel Myers and Isaiah Williams had 14 points apiece. Williams, Haas and Michael Sanchez each pulled down six rebounds. Sanchez added six assists and five steals, while Haas had six assists.
Jonathan Augustin led all scorers with 21 points for Indian River State College. Mike Chalas added 10.
The Manatees led just 37-28 at halftime before pulling away late.
ASA College out of New York fell 86-85 in overtime to Polk State College on Sunday, but will play in the championship game because Polk opted for an earlier game.
There will be four games beginning at 1 p.m. Monday. Only the final matchup and time was certain at press time.
In other games Sunday, Broward Community College defeated IMG 84-76, and Marion Military Institute defeated St. Thomas University JV 90-76.
