A fugitive attempting to avoid arrest Friday now faces attempted murder charges after ramming a deputies' vehicle, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

Detectives were conducting surveillance at a home in the 3800 block of 8th St. Ct. E., Bradenton. As detectives attempted to arrest Jonathan Soloman for a felony warrant, Soloman tried to flee the scene in his vehicle, according to a news release.

Soloman smashed his vehicle into the vehicle of Manatee Sheriff's deputy. Soloman then fled on foot but was captured a short time later, a news release said.

Soloman was charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, fleeing to elude, resisting arrest and a felony warrant for drugs. Kyon Davis, 20, a passenger in Soloman's car, was also arrested on felony warrants, the release said.

The deputy in the car that was hit suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
