HomeBanc enters purchase agreement with First Bank

TAMPA -- Tampa-based HomeBanc N.A. has entered into a purchase agreement with First Bank based in Creve Coeur, Mo., the bank announced Thursday.

Under the terms of the agreement which is subject to regulatory approval, HomeBanc will acquire eight retail branches in Pinellas County with deposits of approximately $130 million from First Bank. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2013.

HomeBanc has a retail office in Lakewood Ranch.

Koontz & Associates celebrates anniversary

SARASOTA -- December marks the one-year anniversary of Koontz & Associates, PL, a law firm focusing on residential and commercial real estate transactions, federal and state tax law, and business law.

Attorney and certified public accountant Jo Ann Koontz has been practicing in the Sarasota area for six years. The company has a staff of seven and plans to add a third attorney next year.

Carlson Studio earns LEED certification for center

SARASOTA -- Carlson Studio Architecture's design earned LEED Gold Certification for the Sun-N-Fun RV Resort's new Lifestyle Wellness Center.

The project marks the 11th LEED Certification for the local architecture. The structure has soaring curved wood beams and an innovative steel 'V' shaped column.

The Lifestyle Wellness Center has highly insulated walls and windows for efficiency and finishes with low or no volatile organic compounds. The building's construction used more than 30 percent recycled content, a state-of-the-art cooling system that uses the pool's water to dehumidify the pool area, and ground water sourced geothermal for conditioning the remaining areas of the building. The building uses LED and compact fluorescent lights that are controlled by occupancy and daylight sensors.

RaceTrac launches Crazy Good Coffee campaign

RaceTrac stations across the country are participating in a Crazy Good Coffee campaign to highlight the brands' expanded, fresh coffee offerings.

It will culminate in a Free Coffee Week from Sunday through Dec. 22. Free coffee will be given to every guest who comes into their stores that week.

Industrial flex warehouse purchased

SARASOTA -- James and

Julia Harn have purchased a 3,072-square-foot industrial flex warehouse condominium at 779 Commerce Drive for $130,000 from Liberty Savings Bank.

Jim Walter with Richardson, Klieber, Walter represented the buyer and Tony Veldkamp with Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group represented the seller.
