The Pittsburgh Pirates and pitcher Jason Grilli have agreed on a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The 36-year-old right-hander went 1-6 with a 2.91 earned run average and two saves over 64 relief appearances for the Pirates last season.

A 10-year veteran who missed the entire 2010 season while recovering from right knee surgery, Grilli has a career 21-25 record with a 4.34 ERA through 330 appearances (16 starts) with the Marlins, White Sox, Tigers, Rockies, Rangers and Pirates.
