SARASOTA -- Voalte's founder and vice president of innovation Trey Lauderdale was honored by Gov. Rick Scott for his role in helping transform clinical communications, the company announced.

Lauderdale earned the Governor's Innovators in Business Award for "Innovators Under 40" in 2012. The awards program recognizes Florida companies and business leaders who made outstanding contributions to the state's economic growth.

Lauderdale founded Voalte in 2008 to replace antiquated clinician communication tools such as voice badges, pagers and bulky telephones with smartphone technology.

Lily Bliss Boutique opens on Manatee

Influence Men opens on St. Armands Circle

SARASOTA -- Influence Men, a contemporary men's clothing store, has opened at 478 John Ringling Blvd.

Samantha Beebe and Elizabeth Murray, the owners of Influence Style, a women's boutique on St. Armands Circle, opened the new shop that carries brands like AG Jeans, JBrand, Daftbird, Splendid, Katin, Jack Spade, Vince, Won Hundred and Slvdr. Men's clothing including jeans, T-shirts and sweaters, and accessories from sunglasses and golf gloves to ties and socks in price ranges from $15 to $300 will be carried in the shop.

Tow to Go Program offered over holidays

MANATEE -- Gold Coast Eagle Distributing is offering its Tow to Go program for Christmas and New Years.

Adults heading out to celebrate the holidays are encouraged to take advantage of the free program which is aimed at keeping the streets of Sarasota and Manatee Counties safe. Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Anheuser-Busch and AAA, are the proud sponsors of Tow to Go, a collaborative initiative that helps prevent drunk driving by providing a free tow service and a ride home to those who may have had too much to drink.

DCF and Safe Children partner on challenge

BRADENTON -- The Department of Children and Families and the Safe Children Coalition is partnering with Pro-Link Global Inc., to encourage and challenge businesses and their employees to donate four pairs of children's shoes to help foster children in exchange for four paid vacation hours to be used on New Year's Eve.

The Safe Children Coalition provides child welfare services for nearly 1,300 children in DeSoto, Manatee and Sarasota counties. The children are always in need of good clothing and shoes. Tennis shoes of all sizes for children up to 18 years are always in short supply.

Pro-Link Global Inc., a Florida-based global corporate immigration firm, has collected 152 pairs of new shoes. The goal is to collect 252 new pairs of shoes for the Safe Children Coalition.

Businesses and organization are asked to challenge their employees to donate four pairs of shoes in exchange for four hours of paid vacation time. For more information, call Andrea Mertyris at 941-371-4799, ext. 110 for more information.

Advertising and PR agency adds new clients

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Advice Inc., an advertising and public relations agency, has added new clients as well as picking up a fourth national advertising market.

Advice, owned and operated by Sarasota resident Linda Gross, has represented the media interests of the West Florida Region of national home developer Taylor Morrison for two years, which includes the Tampa Bay region as well as Naples and Fort Myers. Last month, the agency was tapped by the company's Austin division to perform similar functions there for a 10-county market area. This makes a total of four national markets that Advice now handles for Taylor Morrison.

Other recent additions include Rosedale Golf and Country Club, which has announced a 445-lot expansion project, and Ident-A-Kid, a child identification service that operates in 29 states.

Ashton Woods Homes buys Rosedale home sites

MANATEE -- Ashton Woods Homes has acquired 91 home sites at the Rosedale Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch Boulevard at State Road 70.

Three new model homes are under construction.

Ashton Woods Homes is building new ranch-style homes that range in size from 1,600 square feet to 2,600 square feet priced from the high $200s.
