Free Perlman Music Program Events at USF Sarasota-Manatee

Published: December 9, 2012

SARASOTA -- The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast will hold its Sarasota Winter Residency at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee from Dec. 20 to Jan. 5.

Toby Perlman, wife of renowned concert violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman, founded the residency program to offer students life-changing musical training.

Perlman and other internationally acclaimed music faculty instructed students from around the globe, aged 12 and up.

The public residency events include orchestra and chorus rehearsals, individual recitals and viola and cello master classes.

The Perlmans, PMP students and faculty participate in question and answer sessions following many of these events.

Free tickets will be available to the public between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday in USF Sarasota-Manatee's main rotunda.

Tickets are also available through the Perlman Music Program's website, PMPSuncoast.org, for a $5 online processing fee.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis; free tickets may be available on campus 15 minutes before each event.

Student and teacher rush tickets are available one hour before the concert for $10.
